Katie Hossain is a qualified Senior Associate and Solicitor at Citation Legal. Based in our Sydney office, Katie brings 19 years of extensive experience in industrial and employment-related matters, both as an advisor and a lawyer. Her career includes roles at the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Fair Work Commission, as well as serving as a workplace relations consultant and lawyer since 2017.

Notably, Katie completed an 18-month in-house employee relations secondment with a major employer, further enhancing her practical expertise. With her well-rounded background, Katie is adept at handling both contentious and non-contentious matters, offering practical, tailored solutions for businesses and employees alike.

Her areas of expertise include:

  • Developing and implementing enterprise agreements and employment contracts tailored to organisational needs.
  • Providing expert guidance on workplace compliance matters, including award interpretation, disciplinary actions, redundancies, and terminations.
  • Managing complex employment issues such as unfair dismissal claims, general protections disputes, flexible working arrangement requests, and anti-bullying applications.
