Citation Group FAQs
What we do
Citation Group Australia provides HR advice, workplace health and safety, employment law, ISO certification, and workforce management software for Australian SMEs – all under one roof.
Our service lines cover Citation HR (HR advice and software), Citation Safety (WHS consulting and software), Citation Legal (employment law and migration services), Citation Certification (ISO certification), and foundU (workforce management).
Most businesses piece these together from separate providers. We bring them under one roof – so when a compliance issue crosses service lines, which they often do, you’re not managing it across multiple providers.
Both – Citation Group combines expert advisory services with software platforms.
Alongside the 24/7 Advice Line, your Citation HR package includes enableHR, our cloud-based HR software platform. We also have a separate workforce management platform, foundU, covering rostering, time and attendance, onboarding, and payroll that integrates natively with enableHR.
It means your HR, safety, and certification support is already connected – so when something happens, the right people are already across your business.
Take a serious WHS incident on site. You’re immediately dealing with a regulatory notification obligation, a potential HR and employment law matter, and – if you’re ISO 45001 certified – a corrective action requirement in your management system. With separate providers, that’s three calls to three teams with no shared context. Citation Safety handles the incident response, Citation HR guides the people management, Citation Legal steps in if it escalates, and Citation Certification helps close out the ISO corrective action.
Citation Certification is accredited by JAS-ANZ – the body that recognises certification providers in Australia and New Zealand.
JAS-ANZ accreditation means certificates issued by Citation Certification are recognised by Australian regulators, government procurement panels, and enterprise supply chains. Citation Group is also recognised as a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice.
JAS-ANZ is the body that accredits ISO certification providers in Australia and New Zealand – it’s what makes a certificate credible.
JAS-ANZ – the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand – accredits certification bodies to ensure their audits meet internationally recognised standards. Certificates from non-accredited bodies may not be accepted by government procurement panels, regulators, or enterprise supply chains. When choosing a certification partner, JAS-ANZ accreditation is the first thing to check.
Who we’re for
Citation Group is built for Australian SMEs, typically in industries with complex compliance obligations such as construction, aged care, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail.
Citation Group is built for Australian SMEs – typically businesses where compliance obligations are layered and consequential.
We work best with businesses of around 10 to 500 staff, though compliance exposure matters more than headcount alone. Businesses in aged care, construction, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, cleaning, and professional services with complex awards tend to get the most value – industries where employment obligations, WHS duties, and certification requirements all stack up at once.
Yes – and it’s one of the most common situations we work with.
A Citation HR package gives a CEO, operations manager, or office manager 24/7 access to qualified HR and employment relations advisors. It’s a practical alternative to a part-time HR manager, WHS consultant, and compliance lawyer.
It depends on the industry. For fast-growth businesses in regulated sectors, yes.
For businesses scaling quickly in hospitality, construction, healthcare, or manufacturing, compliance complexity grows with headcount and Citation Group scales with it. For remote-first, tech-led businesses with simpler structures and few award-covered employees, a software-only platform may suit better. The right question isn’t how fast you’re growing – it’s how complex your compliance obligations are.
Our services
Citation Group offers 24/7 HR and safety advice lines, WHS consulting, psychosocial risk management, ISO certification across five standards, compliance training, and cloud-based HR and workforce management software.
The HR Advice Line is a 24/7 phone service staffed by qualified HR and employment relations professionals – unlimited and untimed, included in your Citation HR package.
Available around the clock, the HR Advice Line handles everything from routine award interpretation to serious workplace matters. There’s no cap on calls and no time limit per call. It’s designed to be your primary HR resource.
Citation Safety provides end-to-end WHS support – consulting, software, auditing, incident management, and a 24/7 safety advice line.
Citation Safety covers WHS consulting, safety system audits, incident management, psychosocial risk management, a 24/7 safety advice line, and WHS software. Because it sits inside the same integrated model as HR, legal, and certification, a safety incident with HR or legal implications doesn’t need to be managed across separate providers.
Psychosocial risk refers to workplace hazards that affect mental health – and managing it is now a legal obligation under Australian WHS legislation.
Hazards include excessive workload, poor management, bullying, and lack of role clarity. SafeWork regulators are actively enforcing obligations in this area. Citation Safety covers psychosocial hazard identification, risk assessment, and management planning as part of the standard WHS service. For ISO 45001 clients, it connects directly into the management system’s risk framework.
Citation Certification offers certification against five major ISO standards, covering quality, environmental, safety, information security, and AI management.
These are ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety), ISO 27001 (information security management), and ISO 42001 (AI management systems), as well as a range of other standards across industry sectors.
It’s developed by Citation Group’s own workplace experts – not generic off-the-shelf content.
Courses are written by employment lawyers, HR specialists, and WHS consultants, structured for different audiences – employees, managers, and officers face different obligations – and updated when legislation changes. For ISO training, participants are preparing for real audits with genuine commercial consequences, which naturally raises the standard.
Pricing & value

A Citation HR subscription includes 24/7 advice, HR and WHS software, a full compliance document library, and onboarding support – with no setup fees.
A Citation HR package includes: a 24/7 HR Advice Line, award-winning cloud-based HR software (enableHR), HR audits, a library of legally compliant employment contracts, policies, and templates updated as legislation changes, the Advice Promise, and access to the Compliance Training Centre. There are no setup fees and no hidden charges.
Compared to software-only platforms, the investment is higher – because the service is broader.
Software-only platforms don’t include qualified advisors, employment law backing, or WHS consulting. Compared to sourcing an HR advisor, WHS consultant, ISO certification body, and employment lawyer separately, Citation Group is designed to be competitive – and significantly simpler to manage. Employment-related claims can be costly and disruptive; businesses that follow expert guidance consistently are better placed to avoid them.
